Here's how I solved it, probably until there's another major update from Apple and I wince, grit my teeth and hit the update button! I'm a sucker for punishment! Then go through the install process, clicking the folder in your Downloads folder - or wherever you direct your downloaded files. You may also need to go into the Apple icon, top left of your mac then System Preferences>Security&Privacy>General and change the dot at the bottom to be in 'Anywhere' when it comes to downloading content that isn't official Apple Software etc.
You may also need to unlock the padlock icon with your password to make the changes. If it's already set to 'Anywhere' you should be able to download the Soundflower 2.0 software. Once you've gone through the install process, restart your mac.
